The Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, has revealed why it decided to sponsor Sen. Magnus Abe to contest the forthcoming Governorship election in the state.
Chairman of the party’s substitution primary election, Ibrahim Mohammed said they decided to support Abe because he is most qualified; and has what it takes to govern the state.
Ibrahim made this known during a stakeholders meeting of the party in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
He also said the values they saw in Abe warranted them to accept and support him.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the SDP has said that party membership registration in the state will commence in no time.
It assured that no member of the party will be left out in the registration exercise, noting that the SDP is now the fastest growing party in the state.
