Sen. Magnus Ngei Abe has said that he and his supporters did not join the Social Democratic Party to look for party offices, but to build a party that can carry Rivers people to their desired destination.
Speaking at a stakeholders meeting of the party in Port Harcourt, Abe also said he joined the party to ensure there is progress in the state.
Abe added that he decided to associate with the SDP to bring hope to a lot of Rivers people wallowing in poverty; and feel abandoned.
According to the governorship hopeful, poverty and neglect of young people are some of the reasons he decided to contest the 2023 election.
He went further to say that a lot of persons are joining the SDP from the APC, PDP and all other political parties, adding that the party must be ready to accommodate everyone in order to be the largest political family in the state.
He charged party members to contribute their quota to the development of the party, as one must not be an office holder to do so.
