Rivers State has recorded 26 new cases of the COVID-19. Its highest daily figure since the outbreak of the virus. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 79 with 21 discharged and 3 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
The Centre further announced 284 new cases of the COVID-19 in the country. Lagos recorded the highest number with 199; 26-Rivers 19-Oyo 8-FCT 8-Borno 7-Plateau 6-Jigawa 5-Kano 2-Abia 1-Ekiti 1-Delta 1-Kwara and 1-Taraba
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 6677 with 1840 discharged and 200 deaths. The NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
Meanwhile, the RVSG has urged residents not to panic over the increased cases in the state. The Governor said, it is as a result of the increased rate of testing being carried out.
