The Rivers State Police Command has warned tricycle operators, popularly known as Keke, against operating beyond 10:00 p.m. across the state.
This was contained in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adewole Adepoju.
The Command directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to ensure strict enforcement of the restriction.
It urged transport operators to comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with security agencies in maintaining peace and security across Rivers State.
The police also cautioned officers against using enforcement operations as an opportunity to extort or harass members of the public.
It warned that officers found engaging in extortion or abusing the enforcement process would face appropriate disciplinary action.
