The Rivers State Police Command has dismissed the police officers allegedly involved in the shooting and killing of 22-year-old Anthony Obodo in the Agip area of Port Harcourt.
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, disclosed this on Wednesday at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt while parading the affected officers.
Adepoju said the officers would be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the land, stressing that justice must prevail.
He added that the dismissed officers would be charged to court to face the full weight of the law, as investigations into the incident continue.
The development follows growing calls for justice and accountability over the circumstances surrounding Obodo’s death.
