The Rivers State chapter of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has responded to criticism from fast-rising Port Harcourt rapper, KashMoney, who described the association as “useless” and called for the resignation of its executive members.
In a statement, the Secretary of the association, Ezekiel Benibo, accused the rapper of seeking attention through what he described as misconceptions about PMAN and its operations.
Benibo said KashMoney had previously attended one of the association’s meetings and applauded its vision but failed to participate in subsequent meetings or keep up with its activities.
“Yes! You came to one of our meetings, applauded our visions, forgot to attend other meetings, denying yourself on updates and development to where we are today,” he said.
He further faulted the artiste for commenting on the association’s affairs without sufficient knowledge of how it operates.
“Comrade, you cannot be at distance, knowing what and how PMAN runs its affairs. Now you have exposed yourself that you have not read the article of PMAN,” Benibo added.
Reacting to KashMoney’s trending video, the PMAN secretary accused the rapper of trying to gain popularity through what he described as “misconception and valueless messages.”
“Watching your video tells me, you are trying to trend with misconception and valueless messages. Trying to discover PMAN administrative policies which seems to be exclusive for only financial members,” he said.
Benibo also dismissed the rapper’s criticism and warned him against using the approach to gain attention.
“You will not TREND with this kind of approach! You better find another pattern to help you gain attention,” he added.
He maintained that the criticism would not undermine the association, declaring: “No amount of propaganda succeeds the pillars of the New PMAN Rivers standing.”
