A supporter of the PDP in Rivers State, Udochukwu Nwankwoala attacked by hoodlums few days ago while pasting posters of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the incident from his hospital bed.
Nwankwoala, in a statement on Wednesday said there was no confirmation that the hoodlums were sent by anyone, as they acted on their own.
He said this in reaction to claims that the hoodlums were sent by leaders of the party in the area.
According to him, it is unfair that leaders of the party in the area are being accused of the incident.
His statement reads,
My dear people of Omuma and Rivers State, my Name is Udochukwu Nwankwoala I am from Omuma LGA. A lot has been going on in radio and social media, but as a Christian I want to set the record straight.
Yes, I was attacked by boys in the community when I went to pest Atiku’s posters.
There was no confirmation that they were sent by anybody, they probably acted on their own.
I say this because even when I was in the hospital, the local government chairman and Hon.Kelechi were one of the first set of people that called me to sympathize with me, So it’s actually unfair that they are being accused,
The local government chairman has assured me that this act will not happen again and I am sure they condemn such act.
Even in my previous interviews, I did not mention their names. This coming election has to be peaceful, and people should be allowed to express their constitutional right to vote and support whomever they wish to support.
I am sure this is what everybody is working towards irrespective of political parties.
