The Nigeria Labour Congress in Rivers State, has reacted to the sealing of its State Secretariat by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, NSCDC.
The union, in a statement after an emergency State Executive meeting in Port Harcourt, condemned what it described as the unfortunate actions embarked upon by some members to subvert the legitimate leadership of Comr. Beatrice Itubo.
The NLC frowned at the use of security agencies to lock out members from carrying out their duties, and called on the commandant of the NSCDC, to withdraw his men at the union’s Secretariat.
It also passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Beatrice Itubo and pledged their total loyalty in the administration of Congress in the state.
Officials of the state NSCDC, yesterday, sealed the NLC Secretariat, and denied workers access to the facility.
