The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Rivers State, has conducted a one-day train-the-trainers workshop for Local Government Training Officers (LGTOs) ahead of the nationwide display of the Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection.
The commiting a statement said, the training, held on Friday at the Media Centre of the INEC State Office in Port Harcourt, focused on operational guidelines for displaying the PRV, processing claims and objections, and managing PVC collection at the grassroots.
The workshop was facilitated by officials from the INEC National Headquarters and Rivers State Office, including Mrs Gloria Njiowhor, Mr Makata Christian Ikechukwu and Mrs Famakinwa Janet Adelodun.
Participants drawn from the 23 Local Government Areas and the State Office were trained to ensure effective implementation of the exercise across the state.
The exercise was monitored by senior management officials, including the Head of Electoral Operations, Engr. Frank Ogbise, and the Head of General Administration and Procurement, Mrs Arit Eshor.
The nationwide display of the Preliminary Register of Voters is scheduled for October 9 to 15, 2026, alongside the first phase of PVC distribution across registration areas in the 23 LGAs of Rivers State.
INEC urged eligible voters to visit their respective ward centres during the exercise to verify their details and collect their PVCs, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and efficiency throughout the process.
