Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called on all parties to put the interests of the people first in resolving the state’s ongoing political crisis.
Speaking on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the commissioning of the remodeled Okrika Grammar School, he stressed the need for unity and compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling.
“It is important at this stage that we all embrace peace. The Supreme Court has made its judgment. We don’t have any option but to abide by it and by the grace of God we have started the process,” Fubara said. “We are appealing to the other parties to consider the interest of Rivers State. The only thing we owe this State is peace and development. I am open any day, any time to total peace in our State because if I have to govern well there is need for peace,” he said.
The governor highlighted his administration’s investment in education, healthcare, and agriculture, emphasizing that remodeling Okrika Grammar School aligns with his vision for quality education and crime reduction. The upgraded school features modern classrooms, laboratories, hostels, and ICT facilities.
Community leaders, education officials, and alumni praised the project, calling it a significant investment in the future of Rivers State.
