The Rivers State House of Assembly has commenced efforts to address the persistent flooding affecting Rumuwokeada Community in Ogbogoro Town, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The House Committee on Works on Tuesday met with the Commissioner for Works, Prof. Temple Wofor, and representatives of the Rumuwokeada Community following a petition submitted to the Assembly over the recurring flooding in the area.
During the meeting, the committee considered the concerns raised by the community and resolved to embark on an oversight inspection of the affected area to assess the extent of the flooding and identify possible solutions.
The planned inspection is expected to guide the committee’s recommendations on measures to mitigate the flooding and protect residents of the community
