Ahead of next year’s general election, Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Sen. Magnus Abe has called on politicians in Rivers State to shun provocative statements and focus on issues that affect Rivers people.
Abe, said this after a Special Mass for a peaceful election in Rivers State at Corpus Christi Cathedral Catholic Church in Port Harcourt, on Sunday.
According to him, he is committed to peace and urged all other politicians to follow suit, adding that he has continued to advocate for peace before, during and after the elections.
His statement reads
This Morning, We had a Special Mass at the Corpus Christi Cathedral Catholic Church, Kaduna Street, D/Line, Port Harcourt, conducted by His Lordship Most Rev. Camilus A. Etukudoh, Bishop Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt.
The Special Mass was conducted in honour of Our Solemn request for a Peaceful 2023 General Elections in Rivers State.
I have continued to advocate for Peace before, during and after the 2023 elections in the state. As the campaign approaches, we must shun provocative statements and focus on issues that affect us as a people.
I’m committed to Peace and I charge all to oblige same.
Finally, We deeply appreciate His Lordship for leading the Church in Prayers, in the bid for Peace ahead of the 2023 elections. AMEN to all we have asked the Lord!
