Rhapsody of Realities 12 October 2026: Grace and Truth Came By Jesus Christ
SCRIPTURE: For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (John 1:17).
The Bible reveals a striking contrast between what came through Moses (the Law) and what came through Jesus Christ—grace and truth. This wasn’t merely a change in doctrine or religious practice; it was the unveiling of God’s ultimate answer to man’s deepest need.
The Law had a purpose. It exposed sin, revealed man’s inability to attain righteousness through his own efforts and showed the need for a Saviour. But the Law couldn’t impart life, produce righteousness or bring man into fellowship with God. It identified the problem but couldn’t provide the solution.
Then came the Lord Jesus; through Him, grace and truth were unveiled. Grace is God’s loving disposition toward man expressed through the gift of salvation. God acted on our behalf, not because we deserved it but because He loved us. He made the Lord Jesus to be sin for us so that we might be made righteous.
Truth is the revelation of God’s reality in Christ, the unveiling of who He is, what He accomplished and who we have become in Him. This is why the Gospel is so glorious. The Lord Jesus didn’t merely tell us about righteousness; He made us righteous. He didn’t simply expose sin; He removed its power and penalty. He didn’t merely show us the way to God; He brought us into union and fellowship with the Father and made us the way to Him for the sinner.
What the Law could never produce, grace made possible through the Lord Jesus Christ. Through faith in Him, we’ve been justified, declared righteous, and brought into right standing with God. This is the blessing of the New Testament. The Bible says, “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39).
Today, we don’t relate to God through rules and regulations but through grace and truth. You’ve been brought into a living relationship with Him through the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, walk in His grace, His truth and His righteousness that He’s freely bestowed on you.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I rejoice in the blessings of my righteousness, eternal life and fellowship with you, which I’ve received through the Lord Jesus. I walk in the reality of who I am in Christ, in the fullness of your grace, wisdom, righteousness and truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
