Residents of Umunwacha village in Ofeh community, Omuma Local Government Area, Rivers State, have launched a manhunt for Nwalozie Chiwendu, who allegedly killed his elder brother, Chidiebere Isaiah, with a machete on Thursday.
Chidiebere was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead, according to Chinonso Chima, Youth President of Ofeh community. Chima described the incident as unfortunate and confirmed that the community is actively searching for the suspect, with the case already reported to the local police station.
The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the killing. CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, the command’s Public Relations Officer, stated that the suspect allegedly attacked Chidiebere after accusing him of practicing witchcraft, which he blamed for his personal setbacks.
The victim’s body has been deposited at the mortuary, and authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect and ensure he faces justice
