EMOHUA LOCAL GOVERNMENT PRESS RELEASE
The above being the caption of a press statement credited to a group of imposters parading themselves as factional state executives of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State, wherein the signatories accused the executive chairman of Emohua local government area, Sir Dr. Chidi Lloyd DSSRS of planning to clampdown on loyalists of former governor Rotimi Amaechi in Emohua LGA.
Ordinarily, the statement wouldn’t have been given the attention the writer obviously seeks, considering the fact that the signatories are not recognized by the National Secretariat of the APC, neither are they recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), but it is instructive that we set the records straight for the benefit of the unsuspecting members of the public.
1. It is laughable to claim that the chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr. Chidi Lloyd had concluded plans with the Minister of the FCT, H.E Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to arrest and detain anyone or group for belonging to the political camp of former governor Amaechi.
What’s the political strength of the ragtag remnant members of the Amaechi political camp in the politics of Rivers State, to warrant any arrest and intimidation ?
Of what importance is a political camp that is not structured to win elections ?
2. It is most worrisome that the signatories to the ill-conceived statement never considered the implications of impersonating to be speaking on behalf of Rivers APC, whereas the National leadership of the APC had long appointed and recognized a caretaker committee headed by Chief Tony Okocha , with Hon Ikenga Chibike as spokesperson, as the leadership of the party in Rivers State, thereby pronouncing the illegitimacy of any other imposter party executive in Rivers State.
3. If the chairman of Emohua LGA in his right as a citizen of Nigeria and by the virtue of the office he presently occupies, feels that his person and office has been wrongly maligned and bullied by a radio caller by name Chizi Enyi , and decides to legally seek redress, how does that translate to intimidation ?
Are the police stations and the law courts no longer the rightful places to legally address issues relating to an attempt to assassinate one’s character ?
4. If the attempt to assassinate the character of Dr. Chidi Lloyd as coordinated by the wanted Chizi Enyi is not sponsored by these imposters , we advise that they make their attack dog available to the police.
5. Chizi Enyi and his team of attack dogs have done so much damage to the person and the office of the chairman of Emohua LGA, it is only normal that the rule of law takes preeminence , to set the records straight and save the rising profile of Dr. Lloyd from being destroyed by these cyber bullies and character assassins.
6. Chizi Enyi who alway paraded himself as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, shouldn’t be running away from law enforcement officers , he should honor the invitation from the police to substantiate all that he had severally accused the person and office of the chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr. Chidi Lloyd.
The Nigerian Police is not a cult group or a criminal gang, to warrant fear and public outcry from a supposed Lawyer . He who alleges must prove the allegation.
7. It is therefore important to also draw the attention of the National Secretariat and the Rivers State Caretaker Committee of APC to the activities of these imposters parading themselves as the ‘congressionally elected state executives’ of their party in Rivers State, whose new stock in trade is the sponsorship of cyber bullying and character assassination of respected leaders with hard earned reputation and constituted authorities, all in the name of vocal opposition politics.
8. Dr. Chidi Lloyd never arrested or intimidated any vocal opposition when the council chairman as the Director General led the Emohua LGA campaign team of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to deliver the LGA in both National and State elections at the 2023 elections, in line with the directive of the political leader of Rivers State, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
The PDP had always defeated and will continue to defeat the weak opposition in all elections across the 14 political wards in Emohua LGA without any intimidation, hence the propaganda of a plot to arrest and intimidate anyone is viewed as a mischievous misrepresentation of reality in Emohua LGA and Rivers State in general.
9. The unsuspecting members of the public are therefore advised to disregard the claim by these imposters, as there won’t be any reason whatsoever to unlawfully arrest and intimidate opposition politicians, to sustain the winning records of PDP in Emohua LGA and Rivers State at large.
10. These imposters and attention seekers who never won any elective position are only threatened by the rising profile of Dr. Chidi Lloyd, occasioned by the council chairman’s sterling performance in the administration of Emohua LGA, which will definitely increase the winning merging of the PDP in Emohua LGA in the next election.
It is advised these group of failed politicians come to terms with the reality, as their attention seeking sentiments can never rescue the already surmounted opposition from extinction in Emohua LGA and Rivers State at large.
