The Nigerian Railway Corporation has warned the general public and those doing any form of business along the Port Harcourt – Aba and Umuahia railway line to remove all structures obstructing the free flow of equipment and trains.
This is as the construction of the Eastern Railway Corridor continues.
The NRC in a statement on Tuesday, said the demolition of illegal structures along the lines had commenced in order to achieve the time set for the completion of the project.
According to the statement, owners of structures demolished will pay NRC for helping them dismantle the illegal structures.
The statement said any structure built 15 metres from the center of the track from both lines will be removed.
It warned affected persons to heed to the advice as anyone found wanting will pay.
