The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, has reacted to the directive by Governor, Nyesom Wike to Attorney General of the State, Zaccheus Adangor to prosecute Hon. Chibuike Amaechi and Tonye Cole over alleged $50 million fraud.
Wike, issued the directive while swearing in three new commissioners at the Government House in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
According to him, Rivers people are eager to know what happened to their money.
But in a swift reaction, Publicity Secretary of the Rivers APC, Chris Finebone said the former Governor and Tonye Cole have no fear appearing before a court of competent jurisdiction because they have done nothing wrong.
The decision to prosecute Amaechi follows the ruling of the Supreme Court ordering Amaechi to appear before a Panel of Inquiry set up by the state Government.
Amaechi had gone to the apex court to seek an injunction stopping the Panel from inviting him to appear before it.
