President Muhammadu Buhari has given the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) till Friday to pay tuition fees of stranded students on its scholarship program.
The commission confirmed this in a signed statement by Charles Obi Odili, Director for Corporate Affairs of the Commission on Today, Tuesday.
Odili said the delay was due to the sudden demise of Chief Ibanga Etang, the Commission’s Acting Executive Director for Finance and Administration, alleged to have died of the COVID-19.
The president gave the order following a protest by some of the students currently on the scholarship program of the NDDC at the premises of the Nigerian High Commission in the United Kingdom, yesterday.
