The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the Manager of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma by unknown gunmen in the state, on Tuesday.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Aliyu, who disclosed this in a statement, through the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Ndukwe Daniel immediately ordered the rescue of the coach.
He said two person traveling with the coach alleged that he was whisked away by heavily armed men, with a Hilux van along the Enugu-Port Harcourt express way.
“They alleged that the assailants pushed the two of them out and made away with the vehicle, abducting the victim in the process,” he said.
CP Aliyu, urged members of the public to provide useful information to the Police that will lead to the rescue of the coach, as he assured that identities of such persons shall not be disclosed.
