The Rivers State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of showbiz personality Speech Horsfall.
In a statement, the police revealed that the suspects extorted money from Horsfall’s parents after killing him.
A viral video shows one of the suspects, who admitted to selling hard drugs, alleging that Horsfall was a regular customer. According to the suspect, Horsfall purchased drugs on the day of the incident but reportedly sent a fake payment alert, leading the dealer to raise an alarm.
The suspect claimed that a crowd gathered and assaulted Horsfall before he was placed in a tricycle, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The arrested suspects include Friday, alongside Boma Otonye, also known as Excess Chief, aged 41; David Link Ishaku, also known as Biggy, aged 34; Moses Nsikak Benjamin, also known as Aboy, aged 29; and Emmanuel Aniete, aged 32. All have reportedly confessed to their roles in the crime.
The investigation is ongoing as the police work to ensure justice for the victim.
