Gabriel Pidomson has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State after winning the party’s keenly contested primaries with a total of 112,086 votes.
The result was announced on Saturday night by the ADC National Election Committee for Rivers State following the conclusion of the primary election process.
Pidomson’s emergence comes after a section of the party had earlier announced former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Farah Dagogo, as the winner of the primaries, deepening indications of a division within the party over the exercise.
Pidomson, a former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, served in that position in 2007. He also represented Gokana Constituency in the 4th Rivers State House of Assembly.
His emergence as the ADC governorship candidate sets the stage for the party’s preparations ahead of the next governorship election in the state.
