Peter Obi has commended the presidential screening committee of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) following his clearance to contest in the party’s presidential primary ahead of the 2027 general election.
Obi disclosed that he attended the presidential screening exercise held in Abuja on Monday, May 19, where members of the committee thoroughly reviewed his credentials and questioned him on his vision for Nigeria.
According to him, the exercise lasted for more than two and a half hours, during which his academic certificates, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) credentials, and age declaration documents were carefully examined.
The former Anambra State governor said he also responded to questions concerning the kind of leadership Nigeria urgently requires and his plans for building a better nation.
Following the screening, Obi said he was officially cleared by the committee and subsequently received the presidential nomination form he had earlier paid for.
He commended the screening panel led by Sam Egwu for what he described as a thorough and professional exercise.
Obi also appreciated the leadership of the NDC for maintaining and respecting democratic principles throughout the process.
