The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners has given the Rivers State government a two-week ultimatum to pay gratuities of pensioners in the state or face massive unrest.
Chairman of the union, Collins Nwankwo disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Port Harcourt yesterday.
He said since Governor Wike assumed office no pensioner has been paid gratuity in the state.
He noted that after the expiration of the ultimatum the union would mobilise pensioners in the state to barricade Government House until their demands are met.
