Popular TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court alongside Bello Oladipo on a three-count charge bordering on allegedly resisting police officers, obstructing them from carrying out their duties, and threatening and recording officers while they were performing their lawful duties.
The duo were arraigned on Sunday by the Lagos State Police Command following an incident that occurred on July 2 along the Coastal Road in Lagos.
According to the police, Peller was intercepted while driving a vehicle without a number plate. Although he reportedly told officers he had just purchased the car, they insisted on taking him to the police station. The situation escalated after he began recording the encounter, with Peller later alleging that the officers became hostile, dragged his shirt, and pointed a gun at him.
The prosecution alleged that both defendants conspired to resist public officers and obstructed ASP Agbede Victor and three other officers while they were carrying out their lawful duties, contrary to the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
The court granted Peller bail in the sum of ₦500,000, while the case was adjourned for further proceedings.
