The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has commenced the screening of aspirants seeking to contest for elective positions in Rivers State ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The screening exercise, currently taking place in Port Harcourt, is being supervised by the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI), Dr. Edward Adie, who is leading the committee.
Reports indicate that all aspirants contesting for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly positions are present for the exercise.
Party officials say the screening process is part of efforts to ensure that qualified candidates emerge to represent the party in the elections.
