Residents of Diobu in Port Harcourt were thrown into mild panic on Thursday morning after sporadic gunshots were heard around the Iloabuchi by Nanka axis of the area.

The sound of gunfire caused fear among residents, with many expressing concern over the source of the shooting.

Although the incident did not last long, it created tension in the neighbourhood as people sought information about what had transpired.

As of the time of filing this report, it was unclear whether the gunshots were fired by security operatives or by criminal elements reportedly known for terrorising the area.

No casualties or arrests have been reported, while authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
