The Oyigbo 8th Legislative Assembly on Monday, January 21, 2025, passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Gift Okere, in recognition of his achievements within his first 100 days in office.
During a special plenary session, the assembly applauded Dr. Okere for spearheading what they described as an unprecedented wave of infrastructure development across the local government area.
The leader of the assembly, Hon. Chibuike Keff Elechi, commended the chairman’s dedication to advancing the community and stated that his administration had significantly altered the narrative of governance in Oyigbo within a short period.
The Vice Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Council, Hon. Mrs. Silver Amaechi, who attended the session alongside other principal officers and appointees, reaffirmed the administration’s focus on delivering effective governance. She attributed the administration’s success in its first 100 days to the synergy between the executive and legislative arms of the council.
