The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election conducted on Saturday.
Announcing the result, INEC said Oyebanji garnered 319,224 votes to emerge victorious, defeating his closest challenger, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 40,543 votes.
The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oluwadare Bejide, finished third with 12,872 votes.
The victory earns Oyebanji a second term as governor of Ekiti State.
