The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has expressed concern over the large number of unclaimed driver’s licences in Rivers State, revealing that more than 10,000 processed licences are yet to be collected by their owners.
The Rivers State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Francis Ajatta, disclosed this ina statement. He also revealed that 892 of the processed licences have already expired after applicants failed to pick them up.
According to Ajatta, the corps has expanded its driver’s licence registration centres across the state to make the application process more convenient and improve service delivery.
He advised applicants who have not received their driver’s licences three months after applying to return to their registration centres for verification and further processing. Ajatta attributed most of the delays to technical challenges affecting the licence processing system.
