The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Chibuzor Chinyere, has appealed to oil companies, multinational organizations, and well-meaning individuals to support the welfare of hundreds of abandoned children currently under his care.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the cleric emphasized the growing financial burden of catering to the needs of over 500 children housed and supported by the ministry. He called on donors to contribute food items and other essential resources to help sustain ongoing efforts.
According to him, beyond daily feeding, the ministry provides comprehensive care for the children, including medical services through its free hospitals, clothing, and educational support. He noted that while OPM runs free schools for nursery, primary, and secondary education, the ministry also shoulders the responsibility of paying university tuition fees for children in higher institutions.
Apostle Chinyere further disclosed that the ministry has invested tithes and offerings in building free housing estates, ensuring that none of the children pays rent for accommodation.
He also revealed that a previous intervention in February 2026 by Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, who donated 10,000 bags of rice, had significantly supported the feeding programme. However, the donation has now been nearly exhausted.
Describing the task of caring for such a large number of children as challenging, the cleric reiterated his call for assistance to sustain their feeding, clothing, healthcare, and education.
He urged interested donors to support the initiative through the ministry’s designated account, assuring that every contribution would directly impact the lives of the children under OPM’s care.
