Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, Enefaa Georgewill has reacted to plans by the state Assembly to derecognize Sir. Celestine Omehia as a former governor of the state.
Georgewill in a statement Today, said at a time so many persons in Ahoada West Local Government Area of the state were ravaged by flood, the Assembly is only interested in not recognizing Omehia as a former governor.
He again described the Assembly as rubber stamp, controlled by the executive.
“70% Of Engenni In Ahoada West Is Ravaged By Flood, But The R/S House Of Assembly Is Interested In Not Recognising Omehia As Governor. #RubberStamp,” he said.
There are reports that plans are underway by the Assembly to derecognize Omehia as a former governor of the state.
Sources say the former governor is at loggerheads with Gov. Wike over his support for Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
