The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa has denied an online reports linking his BVN to 64 different accounts with huge sum of money in them.
The speaker refuted the claims by saying that they are untrue, unfounded and the handiwork of his enemies. Obasa stated this on Saturday, when he appeared before the House panel of enquiry on the corruption allegations leveled against him. He said “All these allegations are deliberate actions of my enemies to achieve their aims that they could not achieve in the House to remove me as the Speaker, which was why they came up with such reports.”
The nine-man fact-finding panel of the House was headed by Mr Victor Akande who represents Ojo Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly
Obasa during the interrogation equally noted that the vehicles bought for the members of the House and other expenses made by them were done with the approval of the House and that of the Fund Management Committee.
An Online medium had few weeks ago reported that at least 64 bank accounts had been discovered and linked to the Bank Verification Number of the Speaker.
