NYCN Accuse Oil Firm of Sacking Workers in Rivers

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Rivers State chapter has accused an oil serving company BAKER HUGHES of sacking youths of the state.

Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of the Council in the state, made this known in a chat with journalists yesterday. He said, it is unacceptable for the company to use the excuse of the COVID-19 to sack youths of the state.

Ihunwo called on the State Commissioner of Youth Development to intervene in the matter by ensuring that the sacked youths are recalled.

The chairman, stated that the council has given the company a 7-day ultimatum to heed to their call or risk their entrance been barricaded by youths amid the Pandemic.
