Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme has been appointed interim General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), while Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman takes over as Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The National Sports Commission (NSC) endorsed Ikpeme, the former Deputy General Secretary, to oversee the NFF Secretariat, with former Director of Media and Communications, Dr Ademola Olajire, appointed interim Deputy General Secretary.
The changes followed the resignation of NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi and members of the federation’s Executive Committee on Thursday.
Abdulrahaman’s appointment was announced on Friday as the 2026/27 NPFL season got underway with a clash between Shooting Stars and newly promoted Inter Lagos at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
