Nollywood actress Atinuke Kareem has died after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.
Her death was announced on Tuesday by the Ogun State chapter of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).
Kareem had earlier appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance and prayers, revealing that her family had exhausted its resources on her treatment.
TAMPAN said despite efforts by colleagues, fans and well-wishers to support her, the actress eventually succumbed to the illness.
Her death comes barely a week after the reported passing of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following a battle with cancer.
