Nigeria’s state-owned oil firm, Nigerian National Petroleum Company, has announced an after-tax profit of $4.26 billion for the 2025 financial year, alongside strong revenue and production figures.
In data released on Wednesday, the company said it generated about $44.8 billion in total revenue during the year. It also disclosed that statutory payments to government agencies and joint venture partners amounted to approximately $10.9 billion over the same period.
Providing figures in local currency, the company reported total annual revenue of N60.517 trillion, with N14.706 trillion paid out as statutory obligations to government bodies and partners.
The report added that average crude oil and condensate production stood at 1.62 million barrels per day for the year, underscoring the company’s central role in Africa’s largest oil-producing industry.
However, December output averaged 1.54 million barrels per day. The company attributed the lower figure to planned maintenance activities and unexpected operational outages.
