The Nigerian Navy has confiscated approximately 44,000 litres of suspected illegally refined petroleum products and apprehended eight individuals in Rivers State.

This was revealed in a statement on Sunday by the Director of Naval Information, Abiodun Folorunsho.

The operation, conducted under Operation Delta Sentinel, took place in the Degema, Ogbogoro, and Ogbologo areas following credible intelligence reports of ongoing illicit activities.

According to the Navy, personnel aboard NNS Pathfinder deployed an anti-crude oil theft patrol team, which resulted in the interception of two wooden boats carrying illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and arrested eight suspects.
