The Nigerian Navy has dismissed a recruitment notice circulating on social media, purportedly announcing its 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise, describing it as unofficial.
In a disclaimer signed by the Director of Naval Information, Navy Captain Abiodun Folurunsho, the Navy warned prospective applicants and members of the public against relying on recruitment information from unauthorised social media accounts, websites and other sources.
It stated that official information on eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines and recruitment categories would only be communicated through its authorised channels.
The Navy also cautioned applicants against making payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms, stressing that its recruitment exercise is free of charge and that it does not authorise third parties to recruit applicants or collect fees on its behalf.
It advised the public to verify recruitment information through its official recruitment portal, www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng, or its website, www.navy.mil.ng.
The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible recruitment process, promising to provide timely and accurate information through its official communication channels.
