The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has directed the entire technical crew of the Super Falcons to step down with immediate effect following the team’s disappointing performance at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The federation announced the decision on Monday through a brief statement on its official X account, instructing head coach Justin Madugu and other members of the coaching and backroom staff to vacate their positions.
Nigeria endured a difficult campaign in Morocco, opening the tournament with a 3-2 defeat to debutants Malawi in Group C.
The Super Falcons were eventually eliminated in the quarter-finals after a 1-0 loss to Cameroon on August 8, 2026, marking Nigeria’s first quarter-final exit in the history of the competition.
