The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Rivers State, Chief, Dumo Lulu-Briggs has questioned what he described as the silence of residents over the alleged influence of one individual in the affairs of the state.
Dumo in a statement, asked why Rivers people had seemingly lost their voices to one man who allegedly claims ownership of the state.
He maintained that Rivers State belongs to its people and not any individual, stressing that no person is bigger than the collective will of the residents.
“Rivers State belongs to the people, not to one individual! No man is bigger than the collective will of Rivers people, and no one should have the power to silence the voices of millions,” he said.
The NDC candidate further called on the people to speak up and stand up for their rights, insisting that the state should not be treated as anyone’s personal property.
“Enough is enough! Rivers State is not anyone’s personal property. The time has come for the people to reclaim their voices and stand up for their rights,” he added.
