The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, on Tuesday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Media aide to the Minister, Tunji Bolaji in a statement said, during the meeting, Adelabu highlighted key achievements under his leadership, including efforts to stabilise electricity generation, strengthen transmission infrastructure, and improve efficiency across the power sector value chain.

According to him, President Tinubu commended the minister for what he described as significant strides in repositioning the power sector, particularly in establishing a solid policy foundation for future growth.

He said te President also granted Adelabu approval to pursue his governorship ambition in Oyo State.

Following this development, the minister is expected to resign from his position in the coming days. Sources indicated that the timing of his exit is aimed at ensuring stability in the sector.

Adelabu expressed appreciation to the President for his support and reiterated his commitment to advancing reforms in the power sector and contributing to national development.
