Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Allwell Ihunda has sympathized with traders whose shops were gutted by fire at the Mile 3 Market, Diobu in Port Harcourt.
Ihunda who visited the market shortly after the inferno thanked God that no life was lost in the incident.
He encouraged the victims to stay strong and be grateful to God that they were still alive, as properties lost in the can be replaced.
He revealed that the incident was caused by an electric spark and advised traders to always switch off their appliances before leaving the market.
The council boss also said he has asked Chairman of the Traders Association to submit a list of traders affected for assistance.
