Outspoken Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka has refuted claims that he was Kidnapped by the Catholic Church, few days ago.
Mbaka, who disclosed this during a sermon in his church on Sunday, said there was a lot of mixed information, as he was never abducted by the church.
The cleric, who has been in the news lately for calling on President Buhari to resign, appealed to the Bishop of Enugu, Callistus Onaga to forgive him and his supporters for their actions.
His supporters had stormed the residence of the Bishop, and destroyed some of his properties, when it was alleged that the church was responsible for Mbaka’s disappearance.
Mbaka, condemned the actions of his supporters, and said that he never knew a single glass was broken at the residence of the Bishop.
He begged the church to forgive him, while stating that he cannot disobey the church he has served for well over 25 years.
“who am I? How can somebody who has been serving the church for 25 years come out to begin to fight the same church. Everything in my life is for the church,” he said.
“I wish to apologise for whoever that misunderstood my statement. I did not clap for anybody for destroying anything. I heard that the search for Father Mbaka was hijacked; people joined and started breaking things.”
“I am here standing on your behalf and I render my sincere, unalloyed apologies to the Holy Catholic church where I belong, and say, may the mother church forgive us in any way we didn’t do it well,” he added.
