The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), has announced that the recruitment of Adhoc staff for the April 17, local government elections would begin from March 1, 2021.
Commissioner in charge of Public Enlightenment and Civic Education, Dr. Barango Hope Tariah disclosed this in a statement over the weekend.
The commission also noted that it has been fully funded to conduct the forthcoming elections.
Chairman of the commission Retd. Justice George Omereji who made this known in a chat with journalists, said this is the first time the commission is getting full payment before elections.
He assured that the elections will be the best in the history of LG poll in the state, noting that it would be free, fair and credible.
Omereji commended Governor Nyesom Wike for doing everything necessary to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.
