The abducted Council chairman of Okrika Local Government Area, Hon. Philemon Kingoli has regained freedom, after spending more than a week in captivity.
Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni made this known in a chat with Journalists in Port Harcourt, today.
He said the council boss was rescued, after a covert operation by officers of the anti-kidnapping unit of the command.
Abductors of Hon. Philemon had according to reports, requested for a ransom of N150 million to set him free.
The council boss was abducted by unknown gunmen, about a week ago, along Peter Odilli Road, Port Harcourt, while returning from a meeting.
