Nollywood Actress and candidate of the Labour Party for Asalga/Akulga federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hilda Dokubo has described the Emohua/Kalabari Road as a “death trap.”
Dokubo, in a statement Today, called on Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike to come to the aide of the Kalabari people.
According to her, while Nigerians were celebrating Independence yesterday, the Kalabari people were in tears following the death of a driver on the road, few days ago.
She said the Kalabari people cannot continue to live in tears, noting that they have buried too many persons.
She also alleged that three local vigilante members were recently arrested by the Police for trying to secure the area, and called for their unconditional release.
“This is a cry for help! Please Governor Wike please fix our road and keep us safe,” she said.
“The Kalabari end of the Emohua/kalabari road has become a death trap and a haven for kidnappers and other criminals. We the kalabari’s can’t continue to live in fear. We have buried enough of our sons,” she added.
