Blessing Ezeokafor, sister of popular Instagram personality Jowizaza, has accused her brother of contributing to the abduction of their father, Chairman of Jezco Group, Joseph Ezeokafor.
The businessman was reportedly kidnapped after leaving his residence for a prayer ground as part of his annual spiritual retreat.
The kidnappers have allegedly increased their ransom demand to ₦1.5 billion, almost twice the initial amount reportedly requested.
Reacting on social media, Blessing blamed Jowizaza’s public display of wealth, alleging that his lifestyle created the impression that the family had access to huge financial resources.
She wrote: “You are the cause of this madness, social media noise. When we don’t have that money, you use audio money to make people think the money is available.”
She further alleged that the family was heavily indebted to banks, claiming that the impression of wealth created online may have attracted the kidnappers.
Blessing appealed to the abductors to release their father, saying: “Please leave my dad alone. Please release him. They are swimming in debt.”
