Following the resurgence of criminal activities in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, the Council Chairman, Hon. Chidi Lloyd has ordered the restriction of motorcycle operation across the LGA from 7:00pm to 7:00am daily.
Chief Press Secretary to the council Chairman, Bright Jossy Elendu made this known in a press statement yesterday.
According to him, the order takes effect from Thursday 29th September 2022 till further notice.
He said the restriction order follows an intelligence gathering on the modus operandi of the criminals, and called on Traditional Rulers, youths and community development committees to enforce the restriction in their respective communities.
The council boss also directed security agencies and the Emohua Vigilante Services to arrest and prosecute anyone caught flouting the directive.
He vowed to deal with anyone no matter how highly placed, linked to crime and criminality in the area.
