The National Electoral Commission (INEC) supervising Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Rivers states, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, on Friday arrived in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State to assess the commission’s level of preparedness ahead of Saturday’s bye-election.
She was accompanied by the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Johnson Alalibo Sinikiem, and other top management officials of the commission.
The officials visited Registration Area Centres (RACs) in Oyigbo to supervise ongoing preparations and ensure that all logistics and electoral materials were in place for the smooth conduct of the election.
The inspection forms part of INEC’s efforts to monitor readiness across the affected local government areas and guarantee a credible, peaceful and transparent electoral process.
