A yet-to-be identified Adhoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, was yesterday, killed by stray bullet from political thugs in Ward 7 Abua/Odual local government area of Rivers state during the elections.
Eyewitnesses say unknown gunmen stormed the area and snatched ballot boxes while shooting sporadically in the air.
They said the victim died on his way to the hospital, and that the incident ended voting in the area.
The Police was yet to react to the incident as at the time of filing this record. Efforts to reach Police spokesperson have proved abortive.
